Foundations of Our Work

The Center aims to expand academic and research perspectives related to economic zones and governance of decision-making processes within them, in cooperation and coordination with the relevant authorities in Lebanon and abroad. Particularly, the Center focuses on the following:

1 Promoting awareness of economic zones in cooperation and coordination with relevant organizations and bodies in Lebanon and abroad.

2 Organizing and participating in all activities and events in Lebanon and abroad (conferences, lectures, seminars, meetings, workshops, roundtable discussions, training courses, etc.).

3 Enhancing academic and research cooperation in economic zones with universities, colleges, institutes, research centers, and study centers in Lebanon and abroad.

4 Publishing an annual report on the Center's work and developments in economic zones, in cooperation and coordination with relevant organizations and bodies in Lebanon and abroad.

5 Participating in all research and academic activities related to economic zones in Lebanon and abroad.

6 Arranging, coordinating, and exchanging research and field visits related to economic zones in Lebanon and abroad.

7 Encouraging and supporting research and studies in the field of economic zones in Lebanon and abroad.

8 Contributing to evidence-based decision-making in economic zones for both the public and private sectors in Lebanon and abroad.

The Lebanese International Center for Governance of Economic Zones (LICGEZ)

The LICGEZ is a leading center engaged in the advancement of the development, management, and governance of economic zones in Lebanon and the Gulf region. Through knowledge and expertise and working in strategic alliance with others, the center encourages innovation, strengthens sustainable economic development, and fosters the best in governance practice. Our activities at LICGEZ span several core sectors that drive the sustainable development and governance of economic zones. We collaborate with economic development authorities to enable growth strategies, with legal and regulatory institutions to drive international governance standards, and with research and academic institutions to establish specialized studies and innovation. We also engage with investors and private sector leaders to align economic zone projects with market demand, as well as forge strong alliances with development institutions and international partners to achieve international alignment. With this broad scale of partnership across Lebanon and the Gulf region, LICGEZ seeks to put economic zones into a position as forces of resilience, investment, and long-term prosperity.
