In a back-arc basin in the western Pacific Ocean, within China’s exclusive economic zone, a Chinese scientific expedition aboard the marine research vessel Xiangyanghong-10 discovered mineral deposits. Samples showed high concentrations of gold, silver, copper, and zinc, while various geological factors currently hinder the exploitation of these deposits.
