Hadi Moghadam Zadeh, CEO of Iran’s Aras Free Economic Zone, proposed establishing a joint economic zone near the Iranian-Armenian border to support manufacturing projects between the two countries. The proposal was made during his meeting with Armenia’s Deputy Minister of Economy. The zone could be established in the Armenian city of Meghri, within the Aras Free Economic Zone, or in Norduz, Iran, near the border crossing. He explained that the precise location was less important than achieving practical results, noting the limited activity of the Meghri Free Economic Zone and that economic and trade cooperation between Iran and Armenia remains below the level of their political relations.
