On the 12th of Dhu al-Qi’dah, 1447 AH, corresponding to April 30, 2026, Royal Decree No. (50/2026) was issued to establish a special economic zone in the Wilayat of Al Seeb, Muscat Governorate, named the “Private Artificial Intelligence Zone,” with a total area of approximately 104,000 square meters. According to Oman News Agency, the establishment of this zone aims to promote investment in the knowledge economy, accelerate the implementation of innovation projects, and build a digital economy as part of economic diversification within the framework of the 11th Five-Year Development Plan (2026–2030).
