Discussions were held between representatives of the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) and the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones in Oman (OPAZ) following the strategic forum between Oman and the Philippines, which was held last week in Manila, to support investment flows between Southeast Asia and the Gulf countries across various sectors. According to the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), the Philippines’ strategic location as a base for operations in Southeast Asia on one hand, and Oman’s position as a gateway to the Gulf Cooperation Council, the Middle East, Africa, and surrounding markets, on the other hand, present a favorable opportunity to strengthen direct investment corridors linking the Gulf and Southeast Asia.
