Syria’s free zones and maritime ports are attracting growing interest from Saudi Arabia. Against this backdrop, Qutaiba Badawi, Chairman of Syria’s General Authority for Ports and Customs, met with a delegation from the Saudi-Syrian Business Council, headed by Mohammed Abunayyan, to discuss opportunities for joint projects in ports, free zones, and logistics services. The meeting also addressed plans to develop Syria’s port infrastructure, leverage the country’s location to establish it as a logistics hub on the Mediterranean, and improve the efficiency of its land and maritime ports in support of regional trade.
